Strange Weather (CD)

Strange Weather is the third cd recorded by Caleb Miles since his arrival in Nova Scotia in 2005. Featuring 12 original songs and Caleb on guitars, drums, bass, and keyboards, Strange Weather delivers a stylistic sweep of influences from The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Grateful Dead to Delta Blues, folk anthologies and psychedelic jazz. Difficult to categorize except perhaps with an “all of the above” box, Caleb’s music draws from deep wellsprings while retaining a warm, intimate, down-home vibe. Finely crafted lyrics, surprising and intricate arrangements, and plenty of meaty guitar work make Strange Weather sound like a long-lost classic from the early ’70s.  Strange Weather contains Silver Spoon and The Nuthatch, both of which bring an attentive house down to a whisper in live performance.
